Scott P. Righter
A beloved alumnus of Roxborough High School has suddenly passed away. Scott Righter has been a mainstay in RHS Alumni organizational activities. He is our alumni Vice President who spear headed RHS graduate scholarship candidate searches. Scott also was instrumental in solving difficult problems that arose during council meetings. He served on many alumni committees. He was loved by all and had a very compassionate personality. He still lived in the Roxborough area and participated in local politics. Scott will be missed by the Alumni board and his friends and family. Below is his obituary provided by Lownes Family Funeral Home.
Scott P. Righter of Roxborough passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019. He was born on August 20, 1962 to Frank P. and Annette (Burke) Righter in Roxborough. Scott was known for his public service in his community. He was also known for his generosity, compassion and devotion to the MANY lives he touched.
After graduating from Roxborough High School in 1980 and Bloomsburg University in 1984, Scott worked for various institutions, including Salisbury School (Connecticut), Chestnut Hill Academy, Bloomsburg University, Hahnemann University and PCOM. Scott was passionate about improving relations among alumni and developing opportunities for future students.
Scott was very active in the Roxborough community, serving as V.P. of the Roxborough High School Alumni Association, judge of elections in his district and involved in the Dearnley Park Civic Association.
Scott is survived by a brother Mark Righter (Jackie Rogalski) and sister Nancy Krug (Tuddy), nephews Jeffrey and John, and loyal dog Cooper. Scott was preceded in death by his parents Frank P. and Annette (Burke) Righter.
